On Friday August 13th Tyme Gallery will be 13 years old and will host their 13th juried exhibition "Inner Essence". The opening reception is Friday August 13th from 5:00-9:00 pm. Tyme Gallery started with just 13 artists and now proudly exhibits over 200 artists. Last year's first place winner was award winning photographer, Helene Miller of Springfield. Her winning black & white photograph was titled "At the Water Fountain."
The core of the annual celebration is the Inner Essence Exhibition with artwork by over 25 artists. The tradition will continue with oils, acrylics, watercolors, photography and mixed media. Entries most years are from the Tri-State area and beyond. The jurors this year are Steve Oliver, Paulette Bensignor, Shobha Menon and Lisa Pauciello-Rowe.
The head juror and award winning wildlife artist is Steve Oliver. Steve Oliver creates wildlife and nature art, which captures each animal's character and personality. Using acrylics, ink or colored pencils, Oliver brings each animal to life in vivid colors and meticulous detail, while surrounding them with a captivating and picturesque background or atmosphere. Accompanying Oliver are award winning artists Paulette Bensignor, Shobha Menon and Lisa Pauciello-Rowe. Paulette Bensignor is a twenty first century artist, who works with images of the landscape. Though detailed and realistic in nature, her work encompasses so much more. Shobha Menon's art can be characterized as motion filled, vagrant and unpredictable, and imagery, rich, powerful and emotive. Lisa Pauciello-Rowe is a multi-talented award winning artist and teacher. Rowe is a painter, sculptor and potter. Her working process involves an intense zone-like experience that draws on forces both personal and universal.
So when you come the opening reception will be held at Tyme Gallery on Friday, August 13th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. The award ceremony takes place promptly at 7:00 PM. The opening is catered and free to the public. The exhibition is on display and sale from August 13th, through September 2nd. Tyme Gallery is located at 17 W.
